Back to the (then-) present day...after I helped complete "Dream Catcher", Dana and I decided to do a quickie album together, which we were to title "Astral Thumping". The sessions went so well that Dana ended up becoming an official member. This was the first track she did entirely by herself; she'd asked me to add something but I took one listen and decided to leave well enough alone, as it was fine as it was. Despite the rough sound quality (we are dealing with 20 year old cassette tapes, mind you), "Celestial Dreams", in its own way, is as important as "Carnival" in regards to the genesis of the "classic" F2S sound. One can even say that both "Carnival" and "Celestial Dreams" share more similarities to our current day material sonically compared to subsequent material we recorded over the next 15 years....
Note: the master tapes for Astral Thumping are long gone, as are the original recordings. The existing songs are all sourced from a 3rd generation copy. Although most of the songs from AT do still exist , there are some that are lost forever, such as an uptempo cover of the Beach Boys' "Please Let Me Wonder" and a 50s style ballad called "The Diner".
