- Recorded 3 July 2002; additional overdubs late July 2002. Yes, we're heading back a month or two prior to the last song. Sorry for breaking the strict chronological order but it fits artistically. In any case, we didn't keep the name "Frog and Beaver" long. In June 2002, we changed our name to "Sanity's Requiem", which was the subtitle of a pretty nifty game for the Nintendo Gamecube. We weren't really feeling the name. One day, Raymond and I went out to go get some pop and gas up the old war wagon (aka his Kia Sportage). He had on a Powerman 5000 cd (now if THAT doesn't scream early 2000s...) and when the song "When Worlds Collide" came out, there was a lyric that read "What is it really that motivates you/The need to fly or this fear to stop?". We looked at each other and said "that's it....Fear 2 Stop". We chose "2" cause we were a duo . Surprisingly, there was no plan to change our name to Fear3 (read as "Fear Cubed") when Dana became an official member...
Anywho, this was the first song we did under our new banner, making this the first "real" Fear 2 Stop song. It's not just a matter of setting on our final name, either; "Carnival" debuts the sound we'd become known for over the next decade (in 2012, our sound began gradually changing to what it is today, but that's a story for another time...).
